Join in our budget, quality and efficient group tour to make a real impact in saving endangered Giant Pandas - meaningful Panda Volunteer Program which includes cleaning panda enclosures, feeding pandas, etc. Wolong Panda Base is one of the only two places in China where you can do the volunteering works. It is two and half's driving from Chengdu city.

Reporting Location: Wolong Shenshuping Base.
1. Checking in, sign safety agreements and health commitment forms, receive work uniforms and gloves, and proceed to the feeding area.
2. Under the guidance of the keepers and science educators, participate in picking up panda faeces and cleaning the giant panda enclosures, and provide fresh bamboo for the pandas.
3. Visit the park, learn interesting stories and knowledge about giant pandas, and explore the world of giant pandas through documentaries.
4. Lunch and rest.
5. Learn about the diet and digestive system of captive and wild giant pandas, learn the recipe for "Wowotou" (a type of steamed bun), and make "Wowotou" for the giant pandas.
6. Return the work uniform, receive certificates, and commemorative items.
After the work, say goodbye to the pandas and drive back to Chengdu.

Feed the Panda
1. Wolong Panda Park provides panda works for volunteer workers. Its mission is to raise money for panda protection and to give people knowledge about giant pandas to raise the awareness of protecting wild lives and nature. And it also provides opportunities for visitors/workers to have close experience with the lovely pandas.
2. Panda Volunteer work is available every day except July, August and Public Holidays in China. You are suggested to make reservations the earlier the better. July and August are the busy season. We strongly recommend you to avoid this season if possible. Reservation has to be made at least 3 weeks before the final tour date to better secure your reservation.
3. If you only have limited time, you can do a half day work cost is the same.
4. If you need, we can also help to book hotels in Chengdu and arrange airport/train pick-up and drop-off.
Booking Guide:
1. The maximum group size is 20 PAX. Minimum of group size is 2 pax.
2. Group size less than 2 people needs a single supplement.
3. We need bookings to be done at least 3 weeks ago, any short notice may not have volunteer spots available.
4. 200 people is the maximum number Wolong panda base can take each day. Therefore, an early booking is safer to better secure your booking as a volunteer. Please send your inquiry early so that we can check dates for you.
5. If the volunteer work is not available at Wolong Panda Base on the date you travel, we have an alternative plan for you, which is to go to Dujiangyan Panda Base or Yaan Bifengxia Panda Base to do the volunteer work. Experience and work are similar. Please inquire details from us.
6. Age Requires: Anyone has to be 8 y/o or over. People under 12 y/o will need to have an adult to accompany the volunteer work.
7. The panda volunteer work at present doesn't allow you to feed the pandas. The closest you can get to a panda is the same as a normal visit. Please be aware of this when signing up for this.
8. You won't be allowed to take photos while doing the volunteer work. You are allowed as long as you are not doing the work.
9/. You will be doing the volunteer work in groups. While cleaning you maybe in a group of 5-20 people, while making panda cake you may be in a group of 10-30 people depending on the season. It's not going to be a private volunteer work. Everyone joins the group while in the panda base. Our service is to make sure you are having private services while not in the panda base while driving. You can also require a guide from us who speaks English and who can lead you around when in the panda base.
