Because Bipenggou is located in a mountainous area with a relatively high altitude (2800m-3500m), the annual temperature will be 10-20°C, lower than that of Chengdu, especially after sunset. The average temperature in July and August is above 15 °C. Coats are recommended in both morning and evening. The temperatures in spring and autumn seasons usually fall to below 0 °C in the morning and evening. Thin down jackets and sweaters are recommended. The average temperature in winter is -3 °C. Thick down jacket should be dressed.
Autumn (from the end of September to the end of October) is undoubtedly the most beautiful season in Bipenggou. The red leaves, clear water and snow mountains form a shocking blockbuster. However, Autumn is also the most crowded period of the year, especially during the "National Days". You must book tours and hotels in advance. You’d better think twice if you plan to travel to Bipenggou during the National Days. Spring (March to May) and summer (June to August) are the second best season to travel to Bipenggou.
In fact, in addition to the autumn colors, the scenery in spring, summer and winter is equally beautiful and unique. In March, as the temperature gradually rising, hundreds of miles of wild peach blossoms blooms along the sides of the valley.
