Photography in Danba

Danba Tibetan Village is one of the best photo places in China. From spring to fall it provides photographers perfect color and views to shoot.

There are 3 main places dedicated for photography in Zhonglu Village, there are photo spot location1, 2 and 3.

Photo Spot No. 1 is located in the southwest part of the village that can also be accessed by car. Photo Spot No.1 is believed to be the best place for panaromic photos of Zhonglu and best location for sunrise in Zhonglu. The holy mountain Mordo is just across the valley. Driving from Danba to this spot takes around 50 minutes. Sunrise time is usually 7:30am.

Photo Spot No.2 is mainly to see watchtowers and houses in close range. There are many old towers own by private and visitors can go in by paying a fee of 10 to 20 yuan per person. There are also many big trees around Photo Spot No. 2. Down from this place is Haiziping, a big flat part where local events are held including dancing and singing, and seasonal celebrations of local people.

Photo Spot No.3 is the best place for sunset in Zhonglu. Car can reach around 200 meters below the spot and you need to walk to the platform. It is also a good hiking to the platform from east of the village. Sunset is usually by 5:30pm and recommended to arrive 30 minutes earlier. Down from Photo Spot 3 to its north there is also a local Nymapa temple Salako that you can have a visit.
