Tibetans in Danba is called Jiarong Tibetans, which are a sub-group, or considered a unique group in Tibet. They kept a unique farming life style, quite different from the other Tibetans. Zhonglu is less touristed than jiaju yet its beauty is no less than Jiaju.
Suopo Tibetan Village is located 4km southeast to the town of Danba. It is also considered to be the hometown of the ancient Dongnv Kindom. It is the most densed place where we can find watchtowers. A total of 175 watchtowers can be found here including a 600-year-old 13-angle tower. Danba is named “kingdom of one thousand watchtowers”. It is the best place to see Danba watchtowers.
Dandong is a secluded village hidden far away from any tourism or city 80km northeast to the town of Danba. The elevation of Dandong is at 3300m and its beauty is usually neglected due to the famous Moska Marmot village or the neighboring Dangling Lakes. It is worth to hire a car from Danba to drive here to see the authentic and real village of Danba Tibetan people.
From Yak Valley it is another 15km up to Dinguo Mountain. The elevation of the village is at around 3500m and a hidden village. You will see forest, mountains, rivers, grassland and tibetan villages up here unspoiled and untouched. There is also a temple over 1000 year old called Yongzong Qinling Temple.
Moska is a village located 80km north to the town of Danba. It is a village that has gain fame due to the chubby and fluffy marmots and the beautiful highland lakes. Moska is a good place to do some wild hiking if you want to avoid the crowds although in summer time you may still see many people there in the village, feeding the marmot.
The beautiful Jiarong Tibetan women have always been a stunt for Danba. Is it true that Danba is home to the most beautiful Tibetan women in the whole Tibet? Yes and no. The Jiarong Tibetan women are truly beautiful and are among the most beautiful groups of women. They are beautiful not only from their appearances but also from their optimistic characters and colorful clothes they wear.
Dangling is a hidden place in Danba with beautiful alpine views including lakes, snow*capped mountains, virgin forests and local authentic nomads Tibetan people. A hiking trip to Danging will take up to a week's time.

The morning and evening glows on the village, the beautifully dressed local Tibetan Women, the fabulous resident houses and watchtowers, the productive orchards and farmlands and the amazing river gorge have all turned out to be excellent photo works by many photographers.
