Public Bus from Chengdu to Daocheng

This bus you find at Xinnanmen Bus Station. Xinnanmen Bus Station is also called Chengdu Tourist Bus Center where you find buses to almost every main tourist destination in Sichuan Province. The bus to Daocheng departs at 6.30am and you are recommended to arrive 30 minutes earlier to check in. The exact time of departure may differ a little each season. By 6.30am most of the public transfers in Chengdu are not open yet so you will have to use a taxi to get to Xinnanmen Bus Station on the day you depart. The bus ticket costs at around CNY280 per person. Bus arrives at Daocheng Yading by around 6pm to 7pm by afternoon. Daocheng Bus Station is located not far from the center of Daocheng County where you can easily find accommodations and easily navigate yourself.

When you arrive in Daocheng, you will still need to use another transfer to get to Yading the next day. Please note there is no direct bus from Chengdu to Yading Park, you have to transit from Daocheng and then from Riwa. Some travelers choose to not to get to Daocheng in one day and break it into several days which make their trip more interesting by stops at places such as Kangding and Litang, where there are also interesting things to see and it also helps for acclimating since you are traveling at such high altitude. Buses are available between Chengdu, Kangding, Litang and Daocheng as these are the major towns in Garze Tibet.

Please also note at high travel seasons there maybe direct bus to Yading from Chengdu.
