Public Transfers around Daocheng Yading

There are direct buses from Yading to Daocheng, Chengdu and Sahngrila of Yunnan. Please read Details.

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Shangri-La/Lijiang in Yunnan

There is bus available in Yading everyday from 6.30am in the morning to Shangrila in Yunnan total 400km and costs CNY160 per person. The following information applies when in low travel season when they suspend the direct bus.

Travelers who wish to get to Shangrila (Xianggelila/Zhongdian of Yunnan Province) from Yading can use public bus. Everyday at 06:00am and takes about 7 hours. Ticket costs about CNY150 per person. The bus is taken at Yading Bus Station (Not the Yading Tourist Park Bus Station). From Shangrila (of Yunnan) there is a direct bus depart for Yading every day by 8.30am costs 150 yuan and takes 7 hours from Shangrila Bus Station. Note in low travel season the bus maybe suspendid, low travel season is usually from November to the next March.

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Litang/Genyen/Cuopu-Zhopu Lake

From Yading to Litang, Genyen or Zhopu Lake one will need to get to Daocheng first. Public bus from Daocheng to Litang will have at least one schedule in the morning and it takes 4 hours costs 65yuan. Public bus from Daocheng to Genyen and Zhopu Lake one needs to get to Litang first and then have to take a private car to these two places as these are very small places and no public buses available except to Zhopu Lake one can use a bus from Litang to Batang and get off by halfway at Cuola Xiang and from there hire a local car to the lake.

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Kangding

From Daocheng to Kangding there is one bus in the morning each day by 06:00am and it takes about 9 hours costs CNY136 per person. From Kangding to Daocheng it also starts by 06:00am

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Danba

Go to Kangding first and then from Kangding use the bus to Danba.

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Jiuzhaigou

Quickiest way is to fly to Chengdu and transit to Jiuzhaigou by flight. Depending on the flight you maybe able to do this in one day. Driving takes a really long time, first 12 hours bus ride to Chengdu and then another day's bus from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. This is the quickiest way although you can use other options such as to make stops along the way to see more things of interest, for example to make stops at Litang, Kangding, Danba, Barkam, Hongyuan, Chuanzhusi, etc.

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Sertar

First go to Litang from Daocheng by bus. And from Litang use the bus to Ganxi Xian and from there use the bus to Sertar.

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Emei/Leshan

Go to Kandgding first and then use bus to Emeishan or Leshan. This is the quickiest way and it takes 1.5 days.

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Derge

Go to Litang first and then to Ganzixian, then use a bus to Derge.

Transfer from Daocheng Yading to Mt. Siguniang

Go to Kangding first and then go to Danba then continue using a bus to Xiaojin or a bus to Chengdu and get off at Siguniang.

Transfer from Chengdu to Muli/Dulu - Yading Middle Kora Circuit Trek

Train or bus to Xichang first and then one full day bus to Muli, and then hire a private car to Dulu. This can take up to 3 days. Please also note to hire a private car in Muli to Dulu can be very difficult.

Transfers from Daocheng Airport

Taxis are available when there is flight arrival at Daocheng Yading airport. The taxi from the airport to Daocheng costs about 200 yuan and to Yading costs within 400 yuan depending on the season. There are also airport shuttle buses available at the airport. The bus from airport to Daocheng costs about 35 yuan per person and takes about 1 hour. These buses are available when there is an arrival at the airport. A ride from the airport to Riwa, the entrance of Yading Reserve costs about 85 yuan and takes about 2 hours.

From Yading airport one can also find private cars waiting for business. These cars can take you to places like Yading, Daocheng, Xiangcheng and Litang/Genyen.
