Echushan is outside of Park of Yading.
Echushan is a mountain pass 25km west to the town of Riwa (Shangti-La Zhen) about 1 hour's drive to get to. It is not a tourist place nor requires any admission fees. It is a mountain ridge where you can see the mountains of Yading from northwest.
In the Tibetan language, it is the meaning of “Mountain of Flash”. It is located in the north of Yading Scenic Area, 25 kilometers away from Shangri-La Town, and the highest of that ridge is at 5146 meters above sea level. At its north has a 1200-meter deep valley with beautiful hilly village and the Dongyi River. The forest is vast and covered with shrubs. This area has the largest forest in Daocheng, dominated by spruce, redwood and alpine.
Echushan has the most beautiful scenery in October. When the first frost in October fell to the peaks and valleys of the mountains, the mountains and forests are colored with autumn clothes. At the ridgeline of Echushan looking at the three mountains of Yading is spectacular.
