Five-Color Lake is located within the park of Yading. It is also called Wuse Lake or Dengcontso.
Five-Color Lake is located north to Milk Lake and Mt. Yampayang and south to Mt. Chenrezig. It is the highest tourist location of Yading Park.
The Five-color Lake is named after five different colors due to the refraction of light: its real name is “Deng Chongcuo” or Dengcontso. 5-color Lake is 4,600 meters above sea level and the lake is round. With an area of 0.7 hectares, the modern ice valley extends down to the lakeside, and the snow-capped mountains reflect the lake's surface, presenting a fantastic color. It is the famous holy lake in the Tibetan area (the Buddhist scriptures praised the lake), and it is said that it can “return history and predict the future”. There are many religious legends about this lake.
