Haizi Shan (Haizi Mountain)

Haizishan is also called Haizi Mountain. Haizishan refers to a big area of mountains and lakes between Litang and Daocheng, at some other sources it also include the high mountain ranges around Litang. Haizishan is on the way from Litang to Daocheng, an inevitable place on a ground tour from Chengdu to Daocheng Yading. Haizishan provides beautiful landscape of Tibetan Plateau and it is considered to be one of the underestimated places of the beautiful western Sichuan.

The tourist parking stop of Haizishan is located 90km south to Litang and 60km north to the town of Daocheng. The Yading airport is 20km south to this location. This part of Haizishan has a total of over 1000 lakes with different sizes. It is truely a wild place yet to be explored. But due to its high altitude at an average of over 4000 meters or some places at over 4500 meters, it is one of the hardest places to explore in Sichuan.

The drive from Litang to Daocheng Yading passes through here but visitors usually only get to see a small part of Haizishan. Haizi means lake in Tibetan.
