Travel to Daocheng Yading by Flying

Daocheng Yading is called the Shambala of Tibet. Shanbala means heaven on earth with the most natural beauty. It is also believed to the the Shangri-La on earth. Its natural views of the three holy mountains Mt. Chenrezig, Mt. Jampayang and Mt. Chenadorje are the three holy mountains with religious significance and stunning beauty along with the many holy lakes Milk Lake, Wuse Lake and Pearl Lake are the essence of Yading.

There are two ways travel to Yading: Flying or Driving.

Why travel to Yading by flying?

A.Save Money

This is for small groups if you are traveling by yourself, or travel in 2 or 3 or 4 people. Generally travel to Yading costs a lot of money due to the far distance. The flight fairs cost a lot in travel season from July to October. But it is cheaper than driving in for small groups if you are not traveling in the busy seasons when you can have discount prices on flights.

For example for 2 people traveling in busy season, using flight costs 10-20% less than driving in while traveling in other seasons; it can save up to 50% than using driving.

B.Save Time

To drive in to Yading it will need a minimum of 6 days. To fly in the whole trip requires 3 days.

• Day 01 Fly to Yading, arrive and go to the base of Yading. En route visits/stops.
• Day02 Yading visit
• Day03 Yading visit and drive to Daocheng
• Day04 Fly out

Or if altitude is not an issue to you, you can do it in 2 days.

• Day 01 Fly to Yading airport and drive to Yading and visit the north valley (Pearl Lake)
• Day02 Yading second day and drive to Daocheng
• Day03 Fly out.

While to drive in Yading, a minimum of 6 days are required:

• Day01 Chengdu drive to Yading, overnight halfway
• Day02 Arrive in Yading
• Day03 Visit Yading
• Day04 Visit Yading and start to drive back
• Day05 Drive back to Chengdu, overnight half way
• Day06 Arrive in Chengdu
