Sershul is the largest and furthest county in Sichuan Province. Sershul is called Shiqu in Chinese. Sershul neighbors Qinghai Province and Tibet Province. It is 1070km from Chengdu and 700km from Kangding. Sershul is historically a vast nomadic place in Tibet and home to many cultural sites including Song-Ge Mani Sutra City, Ba-Ge Mani Sutra Wall, Sershul Monastery, etc.

Song-Ge Mani Sutra City is a mani stone pile piled up by local Tibetan Buddhists. This mani stone pile of Song-Ge Mani is one of its kind in Tibet. It is a thousand year old relics of Buddhist practice by the Sershul people on Zhakaxi Grassland. The pile is called "city", resembles a fortress therefore called city. It is a 10-meter tall wall piled up by the carved mani stones by human labor. Song-Ge Mani Wall is 66 meters long and 48 meters wide, a unique mani stone pile in Tibet and the largest. What's more amazing is this pile has gone though over a 1000 years. Song-Ge Mani Sutra Wall is located 85km west to the town of Sershul by driving it takes around 2 hours.

Ba-Ge Mani Sutra Wall is a wall made of mani stones. It is the longest mani wall in the whole Tibet at the length of 1.6km. Ba-Ge Mani Sutra Wall is located 20km north to Sershul Monastery. Ba-Ge Mani Stone wall is 2 meters wide and 3 meters tall. Ba-Ge Mani Sutra Wall is located 45km north to the town of Sershul by driving it takes around 1 hour to get to. From the first stone ever piled here, it has been over 300 years. There are shrines on the wall for statues. There are total over 3000 buddha carvings on the wall. Ba-Ge Mani Sutra Wall is said to be the great wall of belief of local Tibetans.

Sershul Monastery is the biggest Gelugpa Monastery in northwest Sichuan around this place. Sershul Monastery is located by the highway 20km north to the town of Sershul by Zhakaxi Grassland. It is also a very famous school in Tibetan Buddhism. There are around 1300 monks live here. As one of the biggest monasteries in Garze, Sershul has sround 100 temples and over 10000 buddha statues with the biggest statue at 19 meters, being the second highest statue in Tibet. The history of this monastery dates back to 240 years ago. The whole region is name after this monastery Sershul, meaning offsprings of the yellow hats.
