How to Take Trains to Dujiangyan from Chengdu

At present, taking bullet trains is the fastest way to get to Dujiangyan. There are more than 50 bullet trains to Dujiangyan Railway Station and the Lidun Park Station in Dujiangyan City. Before September, 2019, travellers can go to Chengdu North Train Station or Chengdu Xipu Train Station to take trains to Dujiangyan, but at present, Chengdu North Train Station is closed for construction, which means travellers have to go to Chengdu Xipu Train Station to take trains to Dujiangyan. About 18 kilometers (11 miles) northwest from the city center, Xipu Railway Station can be easily reached by subway line 2 and city buses from other places in the city. The train tickets usually sell out very quickly, so be sure to plan your route and book tickets in advance especially during weekends and holidays. For peak time, it is best to book a round-trip ticket in advance.

1. Bus route with the least amount of time (40mins):

After getting off at Dujiangyan Railway Station, take the No. 2 bus and get off at Puyang Road, Jianshe Road, then transfer to Bus No. 17 to Lidui Park, then walk to Dujiangyan.

2. Bus route with less time(50mins):

Take the No. 2 bus, then get off at the Finance Building and transfer to the No. 4 bus. Get off at Lidui Park, and walk to the scenic spot. The other route is take No. 2 Bus first, get off at the Dujiangyan Fire Brigade, transfer to the No. 9 bus, get off at the Liyutuo, and walk to the scenic spot. The third route is to take the No. 2 bus and get off at Kuiguang Tower, then transfer to the 101A bus and get off at Dujiangyan Irrigation System directly.

3. Bus routes without transfers the lines (50mins):

After getting off at Dujiangyan Railway Station, walk 743 meters to Tongzhanlukou then take the Bus No.17 and get off at Lidui Park, then walk to Dujiangyan Irrigation System.
