Genyen Outter Kora Trek

Genyen Massif is a big cluster of mountains located in western Sichuan and near Litang. It is home to many 5000+ meters mountains and many unclimbed. The Outter Kora Trek of Genyen usually starts by Lenggu Monastery by its south at the foot of Mt. Genyen.

An outter kora of Genyen takes around 7 to 10 days by walking. It starts by Lenggu Monastery by the south and ends by Anju Village by its north. It is now a trekking route getting famous in China but is still considered to be wild trek though some sections are now well-paved road. Outter Kora Trek of Genyen goes over multiple mountain passes that are at over 4800 meters and even at 5000 meters.

Outter Kora Trek starts from Lenggu Monastery by south of Genyen Mountain Massif and goes west around Mt. Genyen to the valley mouth of Reti and then over a mountain pass down to Gemu Village and follow the road to Hagala Pass then drop down to Anju Village by the north of Genyen Mountains. It is not a full circle of trek but rather from south to west and then north.

On this trek you will see old monastery, Khampa villages, valleys, forest, glaciers, mountains of southern and western range of Genyen including Mt. Genie, Mt. Xiaqiong, Mt. Xiangba, etc.
