Getting to/around Genyen and Litang

From Chengdu to Genyen

By Air

There is an airport in Yading close to Litang. There is one scheduled flight from Chengdu to Yading everyday in the morning. Read Details of Yading Airport>> From Yading Airport there is a 120-km road takes you to Litang and from Litang another 90km to Genyen.

By Bus

To take a bus to Genyen from Chengdu, one starts by Xinnanmen Bus Station and there is one scheduled bus every day at 06:00 in the morning going to Litang in one day. Bus ticket costs 240yuan and you will arrive in Litang by around 18.00. The Litang bus station is now located outside of Litang city area, you may need a local lift after you arrive in Litang. From Litang there is only shared taxi or even chartered car to go to Genyen and one ride is not cheap as before. It is 90km and it takes you 3 hours to get there driving over a 4800+ meters road pass. The cost for a rented car costs around CNY1000 to CNY1600. These renting car and shared taxis are available at the old Litang Bus Station.

Litang Bus Station

At Litang Bus Station one can get around Litang. See below details.

From Litang to Chengdu bus departs at 06:00 every day.

From Litang to Kangding bus departs at 06:00 every day.

From Litang to Danba bus departs at 09:00 every day. It costs 128CNY PP and it is 360km. It will also make stops along the way at Yajiang, Xinduqiao, Tagong and Bamei.

From Litang to Ganzi Xian bus departs at 09:00 every day. It costs 85yuan PP and it is 260km.
