Planning a trip to Genyen needs to have a plan on costing. Gathered below are the detailed information about a cost traveling to Genyen including costs on accommodations, food, entrance fees, transportations, etc.

Cost on transfer, flight, bus, taxi, local transfer

If you use a bus to Genyen you take the bus from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station where it has a direct bus departing Chengdu by 6am and it costs 320 yuan. The bus goes to Litang and from there you hire a local car to get into Genyen. A local car will cost about 1000 yuan to 1200 yuan depending on the season you travel. And it costs the same on your way back.

Cost on accommodations

Accommodations in Litang

Hotels in Litang are with plenty of options from the 3* like hotels with attached bathroom and other modern facilities cost about 300 yuan to 400 yuan depending on the season. There are also smaller and more economy hotels which cost about 200 yuan per night.

Accommodations at Genyen

Right now the accommodation available is getting better due to the development of tourism in the village of Zetong, Nagaduo and Lamaya. These accommodations will usually cost you about 300-500 yuan per night.

Cost on food

To eat in Litang it is similar as many other towns in western Sichuan. It costs about 50 yuan to 80 yuan depending on what you eat. To eat at your host’s place you are often charged by number of people and it is likely to be charged around 30 yuan per person per meal. Although it is also likely your food will be charged together with you using their accommodation.

Cost on tourists attractions entrances

There is no entrance fee to go to Genyen but this may change in the short future. It is now free and open to everyone.
