Another Brown Giant Pandas in Qinling Mountains Caught on Camera

According to the Shaanxi Provincial Forestry Bureau, staff from the Changqing National Nature Reserve in Shaanxi Province recently discovered that an infrared camera set up in the field captured the figure of an adult brown giant panda at close range in January of this year. This is the 11th discovery of wild brown giant pandas in the Qinling Mountains region.This is also the second time that wild brown giant pandas have been photographed in the reserve located at the southern foot of the Qinling Mountains since 2018. The brown giant panda image obtained this time was taken on January 17, 2024, at the Baiyangping area of the protected area, with an altitude of about 1500 meters.

The brown giant panda is a special member of the Qinling giant panda family. It is reported that, including this discovery, the scientifically recorded locations for the discovery of brown giant pandas in the world are in Foping County, Yang County, Taibai County, and Zhouzhi County of Shaanxi Province, all of which belong to the Qinling Mountains region of Shaanxi Province. .
