Taipei Zoo: Pandas Presented by Mainland China Are Happy and Healthy

China News Service reported on May 16th that Taipei Zoo has proved that Giant Panda family Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan who were given Taipei as present in 2008 by central government of mainland China are healthy very much currently.

Tuan Tuan Is Full of Vim and Vigour Now

On the early May 16th, there was media spread news on the Internet wrote that the Public Relation Team of Taipei City Government proclaimed that Tuan Tuan had died from Distemper. This new spread quickly, and almost broke the Web in China and Taiwan.

To verify the news, journalist of China News got to Taipei Zoo at around 17:00, and excitedly saw Tuan Tuan was sitting in the outdoor enclosure and enjoying his feast of Bamboo dinner. After the bamboo feast, Tuan Tuan even lethargically wander to the pond and drank water. And there are many visitors were taking photos.

The spokesman of Taipei Zoo Cao Xianshao introduced to journalist of China News: “people like the family of three very much. But sometimes when visitors found the pandas appeared to be lazy or slow, they might asked us whether the pandas are ill. Actually, they are all very healthy now. It is the hot summer that let pandas be lazy and sleepy. Besides, adult pandas are usually not as energetic as younger pandas.”

Mr Cao also told China News that they examine the healthy condition of pandas at regular intervals, including measuring blood pressure, blood test, etc. The zoo also usually broadcasts the live video of the daily living of Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan from 16:00 to 17:00 everyday.
