Where to Hold Panda in 2019 – No Where!.

To hold a panda is the dream experience for all panda fans, but bad news is that this program is not available in all panda bases in China in the whole year of 2019, including the ones in Sichuan Province. Before this year, panda fans can hold panda in Dujiangyan Panda Park, Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base, Bifengxia Panda Base in Sichuan Province, southwestern China. This program has been suspended since November, 2018.

Actually, the Panda Holding is a donation program. Participant can sit close and hold a panda around 1 year old for about 30 seconds after donating 1800cny to the panda base as foundation for panda conservation and research. During the panda holding time, the staff in the panda base will help you take photos and video to record these incredible moments with the panda. The pity is that the Panda Holding only lasts about 1 minute each person. The bigger pity is that currently the program is even not available currently.

Why the Panda Donation Program Was Suspended?

Many people were wondering why the Panda Donation was suspended. So are we. We tried to get answer from the panda bases, but they refused to offer more details about it, just confirmed that the program is not available. Some people are supposing the reason might be the newly established bureau which is responsible managing all panda reserves in China, including Sichuan, Gansu, Shanxi, etc. It may need some time to work out new regulation. Anyway, we will update on our website once we get the news of reopening of the Panda Holding from the panda bases. Please be patient.

Plan B - Panda Volunteering Program

To help save the pandas, donate money is not the only way. You can join in the Panda Volunteering Program which is meaningful, educational and interesting. The program includes learning knowledge about Giant Panda, cleaning panda enclosures, carrying bamboo, feeding pandas, making panda food. You can choose to do the full day program or the half day program. The costs are the same - CNY700/PP. You need to make early reservation if you want to join the Volunteering Program.a
