Gonggashan is located 20km south to Kangding whih is about 300km west from Chengdu. It takes about 7 hours to get there by driving.
Travelers usually travel to Gonggashan from Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province. Currently there is no any train to Gonggashan.

Elevation of Kangding is at 2500 meters above sea level. Altitude of Hailuogou is between 2800 meters and 3800 meters. Gongga Gompa is at 3700 meters. Tsemed Pass is at 4500 meters.
