Big good news for all of the fans of Jiuzhaigou National Park because, after nearly three year's recovery, most sceneries of the National Park has recovered from the lethal earthquake in August of 2017 and rainstorm in 2018. The national park is now reopen to travelers including foreigners who are living or working in China.
Jiuzhaigou Park Buses Are Ready
Currently only some parts of JIuzhaigou is open for travelers from 8am to 5pm, while the some other sites are still closed due to safety reasons. It is still worth visiting after the earthquake. The ponds, lakes, streams, mountains, waterfalls were beautiful and they are now still beautiful.
Beautiful Long Lake in Zezhawa Valley
At present, about 85% area of Jiuzhaigou has been open to tourists, including Shuzheng Valley and Zezhawa Valley and part of Rise Valley. Shuzheng Valley stretches from the entrance of the park to Nuorilang to Nuorilang Waterafall, which is about 13.8km long. You can see more than 20 ponds in the valley, including the second largest one in the park - Rhinoceros Lake. Nuorilang is the biggest highlight. It is the same as before. Huohua Lake is now emerged with the lower Shuanglong Lake because of earthquake. And there is a new waterfall Shuanglong Waterfall. Zechawa Valley, the longest valley in the park, got slight damage in the earthquake. Most sites in the valley stay the same as they used to be, including Long Lake and Five-color Pond. Zhuru Temple in Zharu Valley, a less visited valley in the Park, is also open for travelers.
Jiuzhaigou Open Area After Earthquake
According to the regulation of the Park, travelers will be brought to visit Shuzheng Valley and Zezhawa Valley by a park bus and a tour guide both of which will be arranged by the park. The park buses run from Shuzheng Valley to Zezhawa Valley and stop at most of the sites in two valleys. But there are five sites, including Long Lake and Five-color Pond in Zezhawa Valley, Shuzheng Lakes Group, Two-dragon Lake and Nuorilang Waterfall can only be visited by walking.

Only 30,000 tourists are allowed to visit JIuzhaigou National Park each day in 2021. The Administrative Office may adjust the number accordingly to the actual situation. Nuorilang Waterfall in Shuzheng Valley
The fees for the Admission Tickets and Park Bus differ by seasons. In the peak season (1st April to 15th November), it’s 169 RMB for the Admission Tickets, and 90 RMB for the Park Bus. In the off season, it’s 80 RMB for the Admission Tickets, and 80 RMB for the Park Bus.
Air travel to Jiuzhaigou is fast and convenient. It takes only about 45mins to get to Jiuzhaigou Hunaglong Airport from Chengdu Shuanglui Airport. And there are frequent schedules of flight each day, up to more than 20 flights during peak season. If you travel by land, you have a full day driving to Jiuzhaigou while you can enjoy amazing landscape on the road. The driving from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou goes about 450km, passing by Dujiangyan, Wenchuan, Songpan, etc. If you are solo traveler, you can take public bus from Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station (Address: 289, 5th Section of West Third Ring Road, Jinniu District, Chengdu; Ticket: around 170 RMB).
