Five-color Lake - Most Beautiful Lake in Jiuzhaigou Valley

One kilometer down from Long Lake (Changhai) lies Five-color Lake (Wucaichi), which is 2995 meters above sea level and 6.6 meters deep. It is hidden in the deep valley under the highway. Although the Five-color Lake is the smallest among the Jiuzhaigou lakes, its color is the most beautiful, and is comparable to the Five-flower Lake. The lake is extremely clear. Through the pure water, the stone patterns on the rock surface at the bottom of the pool can be seen. Due to the color difference of the sediment at the bottom of the lake and the different colors of the plants surrounding the lake, the originally blue lake surface becomes colorful. It is the essence of Jiuzhaigou lake and the most exquisite Haizi. It is known as the eye of Jiuzhaigou.

The Five-color Lake is beautiful, colorful, pure and transparent all year around. With rain and drought alternating in four seasons, and the water seems to have no increase or decrease. This is because the pond water is supplied by underground water of Long Lake which is not frozen in four seasons, and the supply water is generally stable throughout the year.

At the bottom of the Five-color Lake, the gravels are angular and the texture of the rock surface is clear one by one. The water is blue and precious green, clear and transparent. In the lake, there are aquatic plant communities such as Spirogyra, Charophyta and fern, as well as herbaceous plants such as Phragmites australis, arthrodendron paniculata, etc. The chlorophyll content of these aquatic communities is different, and it can show different colors in the lake water rich in calcium carbonate. In the same lake, some waters are blue, some bay branches are light green, some are dark yellow, some are pink blue. It's changeable and beautiful!

Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station and Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station operate air-conditioned buses to Jiuzhaigou every morning. The ticket price is 149 yuan. After arriving at Jiuzhaigou, take sightseeing bus of the park to Five-color Lake.
