To enjoy a hot spring bath while traveling in Kangding is something you can not miss. There are over a dozen places you can try a hot spring bath. Basically there are two big places where you can find them.
Erdaoqiao Hot Spring is in the valley to Mugetso about 10km north to Kangding. It is one of the earliest opened hot springs with decent facilities for travelers. Now it is considered old. For old hot spring pools using the big pool will cost you 20 yuan to 30 yuan per person. To use a private pool (size that can accommodate 2-3 people) costs 100-200 yuan per pool.
Laoyulin is the village south to Kangding next to the New town of Kangding. It is a valley leads to a Gonggashan hiking route. By the valley there are plenty of places of hot spring pools owned by local Tibetan people. Prices are similar with that of Erdaoqiao. Towels are sold at these places but it is better you bring your own towels.
Zhonggu is at the north of Kangding about 30km away. It is now a village of hot springs. Local government has supported the local business by building more hot spring pools for the village. Zhonggu is also the hiking terminal of a Kangding Hiking Trip. Further into the valleys there are also unattended open hot springs in the wild valleys.
Hailuogou Hot Spring is with the best facilities of all. It is more like a hot spring resort than the other places in Kangding.
