Qingcheng Back Mountain is called Qingcheng Houshan in Chinese. It is a Buddhist Mountain located behind the famous Taoist Mountain Qingcheng that is less known to people. Qingcheng Back Mountain is also a good place to do hiking. It is a good place to do hiking if you prefer fewer people, since the Qingcheng Mountain usually has lots of visitors due to its world heritage fame.

Qingcheng Back Mountain is located 20km west of Qingcheng Mountain. By driving, it takes another 30 min to get to from Qingcheng Mountain. The base of Qingcheng Back Mountain is an old town called Tai’an, a cool place with traditional houses and a Buddhist Temple. From car park one may choose to use the tourist car to save around 3km walk from car park to the start of hike/cable car by the entrance.

Hiking back from the summit, one can use the other route via Feiquan Valley from Baiyun Village and then down to the valley via Cuiyin Lake (need to use ferry to cross the lake) before arrive Tai’an town again. The way down is around 5km.
