Jiuzhigou + Bipenggou + Siguniang Tour

This is a gound tour. Some days involve long hours of driving and sitting in the car. Please make preparation in accordance including power bank for your phone, neck pillow, etc while driving. Please remember to have a day pack with you to take necessary items for each day's visit, sometimes including packed lunch or snacks for yourself, drinking water recommended 1L minimum, sunglasses, rainproof, warm-keeping clothes and hat, sun block and lip oil, etc. It is also wise to bring rainproof and warm clothes with you all the time while visiting.

This morning your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Chengdu with a private vehicle. We drive 1.5 hours and will start to see mountains. Following this, we drive through Wenchuan county into mountainous areas where traditional Qiang villages and stone guard towers dot the landscape. After a lunch stop, we continue through the Minjiang (Min River) Valley. We enjoy a short break in Songpan Old Town and Chuanzhusi before driving down the valley and arrive hotel in Jiuzhaigou.

Today is taken up with sightseeing at Jiuzhaigou. This spectacular national treasure is a UNESCO world heritage site, a AAAAA National Park and the Best Waterscape in China. Water is indeed the soul of Juizhaigou, with over one hundred lakes and large groups of waterfalls scattered over three valleys, all set against a backdrop of wild forest and pure, high, snow topped peaks. You will follow flowing streams to striking waterfalls and gaze at the colourful reflections of trees and mountains in the blue-green lakes.

Today you will be guided through Rize Valley and Shuzheng Valley. The park’s entrance lies at the northern end of Shuzheng Valley which is split into Rize and Zechawa at the Nuorilang Waterfall. Rize Valley is home to numerous beautiful lakes including Grass Lake, Swan Lake, Arrow Bamboo Lake, Panda Lake, Five Flower Lake, Golden Bell Lake, and Mirror Lake. The lakes are linked by ever more picturesque waterfalls including the Pearl Shoal and Panda Lake waterfalls. To experience the full beauty of Rize Valley includes 8km of hiking and takes about 4-5 hours.

Shuzheng Valley is home to Nuorilang Waterfall, Rhino Lake, Tiger Lake, Shuzheng Waterfall, Shuzheng Village, Shuzheng Lakes, Huohua Lake, Reed Lake and Bonsai Shoal. It usually takes around 4 -5 hours, and up to 10km of walking, to see all lakes in Shuzheng Valley. Your 2-day visit will be adjusted according to the season.After sightseeing, we return to the hotel where you can take a well-earned rest.

Today we will go to visit Huanglong Park. Start by a 2 hours drive from hotel in Jiuzhaigou and arrive at Huanglong Park. Huanglong Park is a series of stunning calcium lakes at elevation of over 3000 meters. You are recommended to use the cable car for at least one way (usually to go up) and there is necessary walking involved. Be careful while walking in the park since the altitude is at around 3000m and with less oxygen. There is a 2-3 hours of walking over 2500+ meters involved while visiting this park. The walk will be on well-maintained boardwalk all the way down along the lakes. The visit is around 5-6 hours total so we don't have to rush through the park but rather enjoy and take photos along the way down. For people who don't wish to walk one can use the cable way for both ways and from the cable car terminal now there is a transit car available to save all the walking to the higher lakes by Huanglong.

After the visit, we will continue by driving to songpan in 1 hour and check in hotel.

TStart from your hotel in Songpan in the morning and drive to Bipenggou. Today is another day of driving to cover the great distance of the places. We will have lunch half way.

Afterwards we keep drivingand a visit to the old village of Taoping, a fortress used by local villagers to defend its homes. Taoping Qiang Village is a best example of the ancient Qiang wisdom. Taoping Qiang Village is the world's best-preserved inhabited watchtowers and dwellings integrated into a building complex, having the reputation of "natural air-conditioning". Its perfect underground water network, extending passages, and the labyrinth-like architectural art of the unity of towers have been praised by Chinese and foreign scholars as "living fossils of Qiang architectural art" and "mysterious eastern castles". We will have a leisure walk through the village and walk up one of the watchtower to see more open views of the village.

Start your day with a short ride to the tourist center of Bipeng and then use tourist bus in Bipenggou Park for around 40 minutes. Bipenggou Park is a nature park located north of Siguniangshan, and it is home to many snow-capped mountains and beautiful lakes. The visit starts by the bus ride, and after we arrive the bus terminal we can choose either to walk or use the golf car to go higher to around 4000 meters above sea level inside the park. The walking is not on steep track but rather gradual. At the very end of the track we can even keep exploring more. The higher we go, the more peaks we will see. We will also see forest, waterfalls, rivers. Depending on the season we will also see different colors during different seasons in Bipeng. In summer from May to September we shall see the mountains and valleys in green color and from October to November we shall see Bipenggou in its golden color. From December to the next March we will see Bipenggou in snow.

After today’s visit, drive to hotel in Siguniang via Lixiao Road that is also exceptionally beautiful with the stunning wild valleys and mountains. Lixan Road is a recently built road that goes from Bipeng in Lixian to Siguniang in Xiaojinxian. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful roads in western Sichuan. Arrive in Siguniang and check in to hotel

We will have the full morning visit Shuangqiao Valley of Siguniang. First we will go into Shuangqiao Valley where we start our visit by a bus ride to the end of valley and start the tour. Around you there are many stunning peaks some are snow-capped and some are big walls including Mt. Jianshan, Mt. Yutu, Mt. Se'erdengpu, Mt. Potala, Mt. Abi and many more. We can either use bus to make stops along the valley as other visitors do or we can walk on the less-walked boardwalk along the river and enjoy some quiet time in nature. We will tour down the valley following the river and make 4-5 stops total. If by walking then we recommend to walk the first 3-4 stops total 8-12km where the main views of Shuangqiao are located. The walking will be on well-paved boardwalk on flat terrain with no steep part. Shuangqiaogou Valley is a zigzagged, deep and quiet and the longest valley stretching over 35km. We'll see yaks and forest. By halfway down there is a rafting that we can choose to do. It is also a lot of fun to raft down the calm river for around 20 minutes. Today’s visit and walking is flexible..

After the visit, we will then drive back to Chengdu for around total 4 hours. Tour ends.
