Mount Siguniang area is at high altitude above 3000 meters. Places for hiking are between 3000 meters and 5000+ meters. It is essential to keep in mind the travel tips to cope with altitude sickness.
Mount Siguniang is mountaineous places with different elevations. Where the hotels are located the altitude is between 2900m and 3100m. It means where you sleep is at around 3000m. For Shuangqiao Valley the entrance is at 2700m and the end of Shuangqiao Valley is at 3800m. Entrance of Changping Valley is at 3400m and end of Changping Valley is at 3900m. Entrance of Haizi Valley is at 3000m and end of Haizi Valley is at over 4300m.
One gets to Mount Siguniang from Chengdu to in half day's time. Altitude at Chengdu is at 450m. The big difference elevation change brings risks of travelers getting altitude sickness.

Please do keep in mind what you can normally do at home (if your home is at lower than 3000m) had better not to do here, for example, leaving your warm clothes/rainproof behind. Once you have a cold at such altitude, your holiday is basically over. People who have heart or lung problems are not recommended to hike in Mount Siguniang.
There is only a small hospital at Rilong as it is just a small town. It provides oxygeon and can take care other injuries. There is no helicopter rescue at Mount Siguniang. Any rescue can take up to days.
