How to get to Danba from Mount Siguniang (Rilong)

A shared taxi is the easiest way to go to Danba from Mt. Siguniang. The price is between 200 yuan and 300 yuan per person. What to see in Danba are usually the tibetan villages and the Tibetan villages are located not in the town but rather a few kilometers from the town so you need to tell your driver to drop you into the villages instead of the town otherwise you need to find a local taxi to ride to the village from the town. But this is usually not available in low travel seasons.

A more economy way is to use a bus from Mt. Siguniang to go directly to Danba. As there is no bus station in Siguniang but there are usually two scheduled buses from Chengdu to Danba each day and will pass Rilong(mt. Siguniang) by around lunch time. Each season the time the buses arrive Rilong may differ a little. Price for the bus from Mt. Siguniang to Danba is around 50 yuan per person. You can wait by Shengshan hotel (Siguniang Bus Station) to wait for the bus that goes to Danba. The bus driver will drop you off at the bus station at Danba in the town.

(Or depending on the time of the day, one can also use shared taxi to Xiaojin Xian from Mt. Siguniang and use a bus from Xiaojin to Danba. There are many people going to Xiaojin from Mt. Siguniang instead of Danba everday. Xiaojin is around 50 km away on the way to Danba and the cost for this part is around 100 yuan. Then from Xiaojin Bus Station you use the bus there to go to Danba. They have 2-3 schedules in the morning and probably in the afternoon as well depending on the season. Bus ticket is cheap. The distance between Danba and Xiaojin is only 60km.)

Bus Station of Danba is located by the east end of the town. At Danba bus station there are usually shared taxi drivers offering business from traverlers. If these drivers are not by the bus station then walk westward for about 400 meters at the Danba Bridge where usually there are drivers there waiting for business as well.

The usual Danba Tibetan Villages including Jiaju Village, Zhonglu Village and Suopo Village are all around 5-10km away from the town of Danba where the bus station is. Usually a good way to get to your guesthouse (if you booked hostel in one of the villages) is to ask your hotel to arrange a transfer for you from Danba town to the village. This way reduces the chance you getting ripped off. Another tip is that there are basically no shops in the villages, so if you want to buy something like water. snacks, do it in the town of Danba before heading to the village.
