The many icefalls in Shuangqiao attracts more and more people coming to try. Normally you will need to be asigned a local guide to do the ice climbing. There are lodges up in the valley of Shuangqiao up to Daoshibaogou. During the ice climbing season, there are sometimes many people coming to do it especially by the weekends. A recent isse is there are too many people at the nearest/easiest-access ice falls, so you may need to go further higher up the valley to find ice with less climibers.
