This is a classic trek of Mt. Siguniang that takes about 5-6 days from/back to Chengdu. This trek enters from Changping Valley of Mount Siguniang and goes over a 4500-m pass and then exit from Bipeng Valley in Lixian. Total walking 35km in 3 dasy from 3400m to 4500m and then to 3600m. Camping is necessary.
Mount Siguniang Mountain Worship Festival is held on the fourth day of the fifth lunar month every year at Mount Siguniang. During the ceremony, hundreds of local people dress in festive costumes, praying for the Sgula Mountain (Mount Siguniang) through quaint religious ceremonies and joyful folk songs and dances, holding the scriptures, Khata, and pray for good weather, good harvest, and good life.
Mount Siguniang Ultra Marathon is held by the first week of November every year. This event started by 2014 and has 3-4 different levels. The running trail is mostly wild trails at an average altitde by 4200m. It is one of the most challenging trail running contests in China and was listed as one of the most beautiful trails in China.
Rilong Town is called Rilong Zhen in Chinese. It is a village at the base of Mt. Siguniang and the stopover place for people who visit Mt Siguniang. By now Rilong is called Siguniangshan Zhen (Siguniang Shan Town). Rilong is located 200km west to the city of Chengdu with now only 4 hours drive to get to. There is also bus available to get to Rilong from Chengdu. In another word Rilong refers to Mt. Siguniang and Mt. Siguniang more often used by travelers but local people use Rilong more often.
