Hike Mount Siguniang in Spring Weather: March, April and May

Spring is usually referred to the season from March to May when weather starts to get warm and the rain starts to come. You will usually see the water in the rivers starts to rise due to the melted snow and the weather starts to become unstable with sometimes snow/rain coming down. Camping is okay but expect heavy snow by second half of March and April, May.

March

March is the beginning of spring time of Mt. Siguniang. This may not be the perfect season to camping/climbing in Siguniang as the weather will become more unpredictable and usually with lots of snow from second half. The ice start to melt in this season.

April

April is still in spring time in Mt. Siguniang when there will usually see some snowfall in this month. It is warmer than January and February but wetter due to the melting snow/ice. End of April may still see lots of snow as the spring is longer until May. Mountains start to become alive with green color. April is also the herd collecting time when you will see many local people in the mountains collecting the precious caterpillar fungus.

May

Similar weather pattern as in April but warmer with day temperature reaches over 15C and night temperature start to go above 0C. Flowers of Rhododendra bloom in this season. May is still the caterpillar fungus collecting season where you may see local Tibetan People roaming the mountains looking for this precious fungus. April and May are the unpredictable seasons in terms of weather but still considerably drier than summer. In some years it can be warm and in some years it can still be cold. Days become longer in May and in some years it may feel like summer due to its vast temperautre rise.
