Tagong Accommodations and Food

Accommodation Options

There are total about 10-15 places you can stay overnight in Tagong. Most of them are local hostels and very basic. There is eco-lodge that is easy to book online. But this lodge is 10km away from Tagong and not easy to get to by public transfer. The other hotels are all located in Tagong town. There is Tagong Grassland Hotel, modern and clean. And a couple of other decent/new hostels at near the Tagong Grassland Golden Top. Hotels like Tagong Grassland Hotel, Duwang Hotel, Tianzhu Hotel, Songzhulin Hotel, Mandala Hotel are with private bathroom, proper heating/heating blankets and hot shower. Others are more basic but will still have private bathroom.

Although most of the hotels are not available on English Websites but don't worry too much if you are not traveling during any busy weeks in China. Often you will be able to find hotels even if you book when you arrive.

Food Options

There are about a dozen restaurants in Tagong near Tagong Monastery where you can find Chinese Food. There are about 3 Tibetan restaurants where you can try local Tibetan Food. There is also a Khampa Café where you can find some western food. Tagong is a small place. You can walk the whole street within 10 minutes. Fruit shop is available by the police station. Grocery stores are about 5 now.
