This is a short hard trek around the big mountains of Yading Nature Reserve. It goes from west at Kasi village to north at Yading Nature Reserve. It is a challenging trek. The trek goes from river gorges to forests and onto grassland and alpine valleys. This camping trek involves walking and camping at high elevations up to 4500 meters. This is truly an adventure trip of a life time!
Book NowArrive at airport and be met and transfer to your hotel in Yading at Shangrila Zhen. En route visit Bangpu Temple. Visit the monastery at leisure to acclimatize yourself. After worth drive to Daocheng and stops at near Daocheng to see the landscape, stupas, etc from the road. After worth drive to visit Gongga Langjiling Temple and then check into your hotel in Shangrila Zhen. Today is to be at leisure to acclimatize yourself to the altitude.

Start early by a 2-3 hours drive from Shangrila Zhen and arrive in Kasi village, from where load the horse and start to walk for about 6-8 hours. Your porter will be carrying your camping gears while you only need to carry your own day pack. You will be walking the full day in Kasi Valley in the forest. It is a full day ascending up to today’s campsite at about 3800 meters. Be careful of the trails under foot. Overnight camping.

Today you will continue by a steep ascent to the southwest face of Chenrezig and walk along its south face until you get to today’s camp site at Resongtso, a lake at the elevation of 4500 meters. Today is also a very difficult day on hiking. You will be walking at over 4000 meters for most of the time today so be prepared for heavy wind and cold night. Walk for 7-8 hours. Overnight camping.

Songdo Pass
Today you walk in front of the beautiful snow-capped peak of Jampayang. Ascent before you reach Songdo Pass and a lake named Lake of Milk. It is a turquoise colored lake at the altitude of around 4300 meters in the mountain hollow at the foot of the holy peak of Jampayang. It is also a sacred meditation location for the Tibetan Buddhists. Splendid mountain views of the holy mountain Jampayang. Descent while you catch the sight of Chenrezig and reach Wuse Lake, and an optional walk to the pearl lake north to Chenrezig. You will end your trek by Yading Village and from there you will be transferred back to Shangrila Zhen. Trek ends.

2. This adventure involves walking at parks and horse trails. So walking boots are necessary for this tour. In this hiking. Elevation at most of these sights are quite high as much to 4200 meters. Precautions for mountain sickness are necessary as well. Rain proof and Sun block are also necessary when you are traveling at these places for weather changes quickly at high altitude.

4. Traveling to the listed places will expect lower standard services at hotels and restaurants even if they maybe the best choices. The service level is not as up to what you have in places like Chengdu. The hotel people don't speak English nor do the people from restaurants. These places are quite far, wild but beautiful. As authenticity comes often with less comfortability. Public Toilet can be really bad. You are always recommended to use your toilet in your hotel while you don't want to use the public toilet or do it in the open wild. You are recommended to have toilet paper with you. Food are with limited options at most of the places. Basically you can find Chinese Food with Sichuan style. On a guided trip you can have them customized into vegetarian or non/less spicy.
