Dujiangyan Qingchengshan Leshan Mount Emei Tour - 4 Days

Day 1 Chengdu - Qingchengshan - Dujiangyan

Get up early, and meet your tour guide at the hotel hobby, then you will go to visit Qingchengshan Mountain. It is one of the ancient cradles of Taoist in China. Many fabulous ancient Taoist temples sit along the path ascending to the top, such as the Jianfu Temple built during Tang Dynasty, Tianshi Cave which is the temple and school of Zhang Daolin, a famous Taoist master who taught here and contributed greatly to spreading Taoism in China, Sangqing Temple originally established in the Jin Dynasty, etc.

Qingcheng Mountain is also famous for its secluded tranquility. The name ’Qingcheng’ means Green Town in Chinese, for it is lush and green all year around. It is surrounded by countless peaks and densely covered by ancient threes. The posterior Mt. Qingcheng is noted for its paradisiacal scenery, while the anterior mountains is famous for its numerous cultural and historic sites.

In the afternoon, you will leave Qingchengshan to Dujiangyan City to visit the famous Dujiangyan Ancient Irrigation System. About 2,200 years ago, Chengdu was threatened by the frequent floods caused by the flooding of the Minjiang River. So the local official of the Shu state, Li Bing, together with his son, decided to construct an irrigation system on the River t prevent flooding. After a lengthy study and years’ hard work by the local people, the great Dujiangyan Irrigation Project was completed. Nowadays, the project still plays a crucial role in draining off floodwater, irrigating farms and providing water resources for more than 50 cities in Sichuan province.

After the sightseeing, go to check in your hotel in Dujiangyan City.

Day 2 Dujiangyan - Leshan - Emeishan City

This morning, you will move to Leshan city which is about 2.5 hours' driving from Dujiangyan City. After arrival, your tour guide will take you to see the famous Giant Buddha. Sculptured on the cliff facing the River, Leshan Giant Buddha is 71 meters high, and has sat here for more than one thousand years. You will walk the plank road built on the cliff to get close observation of the Buddha.

After about 2 hours’ stay at Leshan, drive about 40 minutes to next Buddhist kingdom – Emeishan. Take a short visit to Baoguosi Temple which is one of most influential Buddhist temple of Emeishan.

Check in hotel, and take a good rest.

Day 3 Emeishan Tour - Chengdu

Today is a full day visiting on Emeishan. Firstly, take sightseeing bus to the upper station – Leidongping where you hike about 30 minutes to get to the Jieyingting Cableway Station. Then you can take cableways to the top of Emeishan – Golden Summit, or hike about another 2 hours up the stone steps. The experience on the Golden Summit is fabulous – sparkling golden Buddha statue, grandiose temples, endless stretching cloud sea, fresh air, etc.

After the sightseeing, take sightseeing bus back to the foot of the mountain, then drive back to Chengdu.

Day 4 Chengdu Departure

Today is free for you to catch your flight/train to next destination.
