Gonggashan is a group of mountains in western Sichuan in Ganzi Tibetan Prefecture. Its highest point is the top of a 7556-meter mountain Mount Gongga, which is called the king of Sichuan Mountains. Gonggashan is home to many big mountains over 5000 and 6000 meters, big glaciers, primitive forests, beautiful alpine valleys, Tibetan nomads people and a very fine adventure travel destination, once listed as one of the top 10 hiking destinations in China. It is located at about 300km west to Chengdu near the town of Kangding. Gonggashan Hiking
Gonggashan (Minya Konka, Mount Gongga)
Gonggashan is a big place. It has attractions, places and activities worth to do on its east, north and west. At its east there are Hailuogou Glacier Park, Yanzigou Park, Red Stone Slides. At its north there are Beihaizi Shan, Gonggashan hiking and the city of Kangding. At its west there are Yaha Pass Photo spot, Zimei Pass, Gongga Gompa and hiking. Some of these require entrance fees some do not. You will need multiple days to see any one of these places
Gonggashan Massif
Gonggashan Massif is a range in Daxue Shan in western Sichuan. It has over 15 mountains that are over 6000 meters, making it one of the most popular places in China for hiking and climbing. Among these mountains there Mount Gongga, Mt. Zhongshan, Mt. Edgar, Mt. Jiazi, Mt. Roddmain, Mt. Doddmain, Mt. Langemain, etc. These high mountains are covered in snow all year round.
Conch Glacier Park (Hailuogou)
Conch Glacier Park is also called Hailuogou Glacier Park. It is a national park located at the southeast of Gonggashan. It is a big valley goes to the glacier of Mount Gongga at around 3800 meters above sea level. Conch Valley is home to a few big glaciers in China. Entrance fee is required to go into this park. It has very good facilities for visitors to see the glaciers and forests.
Gonggashan Hiking
Hiking is a big deal in Gonggashan. The hiking is usually done from April to the next January, which are considered good seasons for hiking. It has different trails in Gonggashan that allow you to make plans of a hiking trip of different duration. A car tour can lead you to Hailuogou Glacier Park and most of the passes for you to take photos. A hiking trip leads you to go into the wild parts of Gonggashan to see more.

Mount Gongga
Mount Gongga is a 7556-meter mountain and the eastern most 7-thousander on earth. It is sometimes called Gonggashan, the same as the name of the range itself. Konka means big white mountain. Mount Gongga is also a holy mountain in local Buddhist culture.
